Our Story
On a cold winter evening just before Thanksgiving in 1994, Sam and Peter, eight and nine year old brothers, made a ‘chocolate concoction’ to pour over ice cream. ”This is great,” Peter said. ”Maybe we could make more and sell it for Christmas present money!” So with a little help from Mom and Dad, they filled a Red Wagon with forty jars. After a jaunt around the neighborhood, the red wagon was empty and the boys had a cigar box full of money.
So the story of “Two Brothers” was born. For the first several years Peter and Sam sandwiched their business between soccer and school, doing demonstrations and tastings in local stores and Farmer’s Markets. Their parents taught them about business and kept track of schedules. The boys managed sales and profits, and helped with their label design and marketing ideas. Today both of the boys are in college, one in Montana and one in Oregon. Those long ago days of soccer have been replaced with basketball and rugby and the demands of school have increased as well as the needs of Two Brothers Foods.
